Creative Craft Day

We had an awesome day making up our flower or foliage creations for creative craft Day today. I loved seeing the patterns on the sand saucers and the scenes on trays were really imaginative.

Matt's Birthday

This week it was Matt's Birthday. His mum brought in the most beautiful chocolate and banana cake. Joey is blowing out the candels because he couldn't eat the cake and Matt was happy to include him in that way.

Sharing with Room 3

We are really proud of our wire figures that we made for Creative craft Day. We invited Room 3 to come up and have a look.

Stardome

We had a great trip today at the Stardome. Lots was learnt about the planets and day and night. The playground was fun too.

Mrs Humfrey

In Room 5 we have a student teacher and her name is Mrs Humfrey. Shes very nice and she loves working with us. Mrs Humfrey has started to take Maths and Reading groups and she learns new things every day. In a few weeks we have creative craft day which is where we do a whole lot of things like sand saucers, scene on a tray and we also do scrap booking which we all love. And this year we are doing wire people and they look great!!! Yesterday we had a go at doing them and Mrs Humfrey had a go too. Hers was awesome! She taught us how to make the body parts and how to twist them all together and make arms and legs. Everyone loves having her in our class and we will all miss her when she goes.

Why Kaiwaka Town is the Best Place to Live!

Appreciation Day

This term we played games together because the weather was not good for a 'Wheels Day'. Appreciation is a day where we celebrate those students who are always good and choose to do the right things.

My New Puppy Fern

Hi my name is Holly and I just got a new puppy. She's a girl called Fern named after the Black Ferns. she is a black Labrador. She's soooo cute!!! Fern is very playful. If you lie down at the edge of a deck she will come as fast as she can, run, skid and pounce on your head. She will try to bite your head, hair or hand but only playful bites. She is a very kind dog. We feed her Pedigree dog food and she loves it[sometimes a bit of our food too]. Fern has her own stash under our deck bench where she can only just fit, because all her toys are in there. I'll list them; a salmon tin, chippy packet, sandy the duck, 3 tennis balls, a rope toy, a teddy, Gigger the kiwi, grey fluffy rabbit[not real], a white polar bear, and 2 squash balls. I think that's all. O.K. bye for now.

Karimas Bunnys

Whoa! These bunny's are so fluffy everyone in Room Five had held these cute bunny's. Their names are Patches and Toffee. When I held Patches he was squirming trying to get out. When I held Toffee she was all ready tired. Well, I could have written this in my writing book but instead I need to share the news.

Room5 Kaiwaka School's Goldfish

Hi Pakiri School, its Donnya from Kaiwaka School. We also have Goldfish just like you. We have eggs now. We did not know what they were so we called them Snishes that means half fish and half snail. We decorated our bowl with rocks, little colourful stones, a starfish and oxygen weed because our star fish stopped working but it finally started working. We feed our fish once a day. What about you? We only have three fish. When we first got our fish they were very shy. The thing was that one of the fish was bleeding because the two black ones were picking on it so we had to get another one but it is not getting picked on. I hope your Goldfish are alright.

Speech Content

Hi my name is Kalani and I won the speech finals for the year 6. My awesome speech was about Daniel Carter from the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team. He plays first five, number 10. Daniel Carter is the kicker for his team. He also plays for a team called the Crusaders known as Canterbury South Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. Daniel was having surgery on his ankle but I think it's all right now.
