Calf Club Day

I'm sure there were more children involved this year. My class seemed empty, but I loved going down to see how the children were doing. It was a great day and the children involved had a ball.

Student Teacher

We have been very luck to have Mrs Burbidge in our class helping the children learn. She is currently learning to be a teacher and is doing an amazing job.

Athletics

The children are currently getting ready for our Athletics Day coming up on the 16th of November. Here are some photos of them doing long jump.

Life Guard learning

The super lifeguard people, Sam and Mason came to Kaiwaka School and taught us about staying safe at the beach. I learnt that you don't just go down to the beach by
yourself and take a older child, you take a adult. By Portia.

The life saving lifeguards from Bethals Beach came to our school to teach Room 5 how to be safe in the water. Jade had to save Mason. Help, help and his life was saved. By Blossom.

Mine and Murphy's Mice

My and Murphy's mice are cool. We have to play with them before they get mad and I am the only one that plays with my mouse. That is why, this morning the other mice were tring to eat mine. By Rip.

Grandparents Day

We had an amazing day on Friday with 'Grandparents Day'. We had the most grandparents ever, I think. The hall was full! The children loved presenting their poems to their grandparents and had put lots of thought into what they said. It was a fun day for all.

Jessika's Kittens

On Friday Jessika brought her kittens to school to show us. They were very cute and one kept running away under the tables. He was a real explorer.

We have just finished our speech competition for the year. All the children did really well and came up with some wonderful ideas this year. I was pleased with all the speeches and very proud of the children who got into the finials and won.

Assembly Term 3 2009

Wow! We worked really hard on this terms assembly and it was full. It was sad that we did not get to finish it as the singing and dancing are so much fun to watch and listen to. The songs I choose were not easy ones but the children learnt them well and were so lovely to listen to. They did well to learn their choosen poems and act them out. Their plays were also amazing as they wrote them, made the props and acted them out, having had only three days to get ready. Tu meke Room 5.

The Netball on Saturday

Every Saturday morning we enthusiastically get up to go to netball. This year I have helped umpire which has had it's good times and tricky times, as I learnt the skills needed. The Children however have been amazing, playing to the best of their abilities, taking risks, and playing fair. I am proud off you all!

The Rugby on Friday Night

Joey invited me to watch his team play rugby. I was very excited to go and watch as most of the team is made up of Room 5 boys. It was a cold night but I bet the boys and girl weren't cold because the spent all the game running. I had lots of fun watching the children.
