Oral Language

Our goal during Oral Language Time at the moment is to work as a team to solve problems or discuss 'big' ideas.

Whaea Mina Time

We always enjoy Whaea Mina Time and using the raku is lots of fun.

Soccer

Today we took part in a soccer competition against local schools. It was lots of fun but we were tired afterwards. Kaiwaka 2 won the competition which was good because we have had Owen coming and teaching us the skills. As an adult I was really pleased with the Fair Play I saw: everyone was a good sport and we can be proud of the students.

Drop, Cover, Hold

Today we practiced what we would do if there was a earthquake. It was dificult finding the best place to hid under or next to. Lucky we had time to think about it and made sure we were away from windows and lights. We went on the website and found it very helpful.

The Room 4/5/6 Opening

Wow! What a busy week we have had for the last week of the term. On Tuesday we had our opening for the vamped up classrooms. We were really proud of our room and looking forward to members of the public coming through to have a look. We listened quietly while speeches were made and then gave a demonstration of one of the ways we use the ceiling mounted projector. It was neat seeing three or four genertations at our school.

The Production - Te Mea Nui

Last week was very busy for the whole of the school. We presented Te Mea Nui three times, twice at night to the Kaiwaka Community. Room 5 were amazing! They wrote and acted out their Scooby-doo play.
